Mel Giedroyc Parents: Meet Michal Giedroyc & Rosy Giedroyc

Mel Giedroyc was born to Michal Giedroyc and Rosy Giedroyc. Her father, Michal was a Polish Lithuanian aristocrat who later became a naturalised British citizen and is now an aircraft designer.

He studied at the University of London and ten worked designing aircraft at Vickers Aerospace. He later moved into economic consultancy. He became an expert in the history of medieval Lithuania. His memoirs were published in 2010 as Crater’s Edge.

He died in December 2017.

Mel’s mother Rosemary is of English Origin. Unlike Mel’s dad, her mother is not very known as she lived her life away from the media.

Mel attended the independent Oxford High School and later attended Trinity College, Cambridge graduating with a lower degree in French and Italian.
