Mekhi Becton, an offensive tackle for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL), was born on April 18, 1999. He attended Louisville University and played college football. The Jets selected him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Becton participated in the 2017 campaign as a freshman. Becton, a lineman for the Cardinals, started 11 of the 13 games he participated in during his first season. Pro Football Focus gave Becton the top freshman rating in the nation for the first four games of the season, and for the next seven, he was the best pass-blocker in the ACC, surrendering just six pressures on 312 snaps. The New York Jets selected Becton with the 11th overall choice in the first round.

His parents have two more children, Michael and Mason Becton, who are his two brothers.
Becton was transferred to right tackle on July 27, 2022, after George Fant was moved to left tackle. Becton received a right kneecap avulsion fracture diagnosis on August 8 during training camp. He was placed on injured reserve by the Jets eight days later, and he missed the whole season.
