Meghan Markle Court Case: How much was Samantha Markle demanding from Meghan?

Samantha Markle, half-sister of the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Meghan has sued her for a sum of $75,000 (60,500 GBP) for defaming her (Samantha) and their family.

This follows an interview Meghan did with Oprah two years ago (March 2021) stating that she was an only child while growing up.

“I grew up as an only child, which everyone who grew up around me knows, and I wished I had siblings,” Meghan shared in the interview.

Unfortunately for Samantha, her claim and demand to be paid were dismissed by the court and rubbished completely. The judge shared that Meghan’s statement was merely her own experience about her childhood, therefore, holds no water in regards to defamation like Samantha claimed.

Samantha has been heavily backlashed by netizens and even her own family. According to her mother, Rosyln, Samantha has also been envious of Meghan since childhood.

She has also criticized her relationship heavily with the British Prince over the years. Her brother, Thomas Markle Jr, who happens to share both parents with her has also said that “no one talks to Samantha.”

“It’s why nobody talks to her and hasn’t for a long, long time. Leave Meghan alone already. It’s ridiculous,” Thomas said.
