Alhassan was denied bail due to being arraigned on a bench warrant and will remain in custody until his next court appearance on May 9, 2024.
The accused, a vehicle mechanic residing in Awoshie, a suburb of Accra, denied the charges of possessing forged documents.
According to Police Chief Inspector Daniel Danku, the complainant in the case is a private legal practitioner based in Accra.
In 2002, the complainant applied for a 50-year lease on a piece of land in Avenor, Accra, from the Ghana Railways Company Limited, now the Ghana Railway Development Authority.

Despite securing the lease, the complainant faced obstacles when attempting to develop the land, with Alhassan allegedly refusing to vacate the site.
Alhassan, instead, brought in heavy-duty vehicles and buses, obstructing the complainant’s development plans and even threatening to employ thugs to destroy any project on the land.
The prosecution highlighted that during investigations, Alhassan presented a lease agreement purportedly issued by the Ghana Railway Company Limited in 2001. However, subsequent checks revealed inconsistencies, with the document not originating from the railway company.
Alhassan, failing to cooperate with police inquiries, was issued an accused summons to appear before the court.
