British musician, rapper, singer-songwriter and DJ Maxwell Fraser best known by the stage name Maxi Jazz has died. Maxi Jazz was born on 14 June 1957 and died on 23 December 2022 at age 65.

Maxi Jazz is best remembered for his role as the lead vocalist of British electronic band Faithless from 1995 to 2011 and 2015.
Maxi Jazz was in the Faithless band together with Rollo and Sister Bliss.
Sister Bliss said he died “peacefully in his sleep” in his south-London home on Friday night.

A cause of death was not given.
Born in Brixton, London, England, Maxi Jazz founded The Soul Food Cafe System as a DJ in 1984, first airing the sound as a DJ calling it “In the Soul Kitchen with DJ Maxi Jazz” on pirate radio station Reach FM London in 1985/6.
Aside music, Maxi Jazz was a lifelong supporter of Crystal Palace FC, and in 2012 became an associate director of the club.
The club eulogized him, saying:
“We are mourning the loss of legendary musician Maxi Jazz, who has passed away at the age of 65.
“The team will walk out to Faithless on Boxing Day in tribute.”
Maxi Jazz was also into motor racing and occasionally participated in races.
