Max Vitali is one of the three children of Leon Vitali, the Barry Lyndon actor who ‘abandoned’ acting to become one of Stanley Kubrick’s closest associates.

Max was born on June 26, 1978 in Stockholm, Sweden and his mother is Kersti Vitali. Max is also an actor and director and he is best known for; Robyn: Dancing on My Own (2010), Aspiranterna (1998) and Robyn: Call Your Girlfriend (2011).

Sadly, Max’s father Leon Vitali has passed away. He passed away on Friday August 20 in Los Angeles, his family said on Sunday. He died peacefully surrounded by loved ones including Max and his two other children; Masha, and Vera.

“Leon was a special and lovely man driven by his curiosity, who spread love and warmth wherever he went,” his children said. “He will be remembered with love and be hugely missed by the many people he touched.”

Leon Vitali is perhaps most well-known on the big screen for his role as Lord Bullingdon in Kubrick’s Barry Lyndon, in which he played the title character’s stepson.
But after forming a close bond with Kubrick on the set, the actor decided to switch his career path and become the director’s personal assistant.
