Born on January 7, 1997, Maxim Hugo Malins is an English rugby union player who mostly plays on the wing for Saracens in the Gallagher Premiership. In January 2017, Malins made his debut with the first team during the Anglo-Welsh Cup encounter against the Scarlets.

Since then, he has taken part in 29 games across all leagues, frequently filling in for Alex Lozowski and Owen Farrell while they were away on business trips abroad. In these games, Malins has scored an astonishing 104 points, including 7 tries.

Nonetheless, his place-kicking success record is only 63%, which is somewhat unimpressive. After a solid 2017/2018 campaign and a higher possibility that Saracens’ first-choice fly-half would be unavailable due to international service, Malins was given and accepted a two-year contract extension, keeping him with the club through the end of the 2019/2020 season.

In their 9-23 defeat to the Northampton Saints in the 2019 Premiership Rugby Cup final in March 2019, Malins was the only scorer for Saracens.

Despite some ups and downs in his early career, Malins has shown remarkable potential as a rugby player and developed into a crucial part of the Saracens squad. He has already done a lot to support the team’s success and undoubtedly will do so in the future.
