Matthew Thomas Fitzpatrick is a professional golfer from England. His greatest accomplishment as an amateur was winning the 2013 US Amateur Championship. In 2015, he won his first professional tournament, the British Masters.

Matt Fitzpatrick made his Masters debut in 2014, after becoming the first Englishman to win the US Amateur in more than a century, at Brookline in 2013.
In June of 2015, he finished third at the Lyoness Open, followed by a second-place finish at the Omega European Masters in July, a stroke behind Danny Willett, and collecting the second prize of €300,000.

His first victory occurred in October 2015, when he took first place in the British Masters at Woburn, gaining £500,000 (€671,550). He entered the world’s top 100 for the first time with a ranking of 59 as a result of this performance.
Fitzpatrick ended his rookie season on tour with one victory, nine top-10 finishes, and a final Order of Merit ranking of 12th.
Since then, the 27-year-old has established himself as a weekend regular at Augusta National, having cut each of his last six Masters appearances.
Last season, he won once on the European Tour and was an automatic pick for Europe in the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits. Fitzpatrick attended Northwestern for one semester before becoming a pro. Alex, his younger brother, is a Wake Forest player.
