It is not known whether Matteo Denaro was married or not. However, Messina Denaro maintained several romantic relationships while in hiding, including one with his fiancée, Franca Alagna, with whom he had a daughter, Lorenza.
Another of his high-profile relationships was with an Austrian hotel worker, who boasted that despite his being on Europol’s most-wanted list, the two of them went on vacation to Greece.

On January 16, 2023, he was apprehended in a private clinic in Palermo, Sicily’s capital after being wanted for nearly 30 years.
Messina Denaro was wanted for a wide range of criminal activities, including murder, extortion, and drug trafficking.
He is also suspected of being involved in several high-profile killings, including the 1992 murder of anti-mafia prosecutor Giovanni Falcone.
