Matt Miazga is an American citizen by nationality. However, his parents are from Poland.

Matt Miazga attended Clifton High School. He later joined the New York Red Bulls Academy in 2009 at the under-14 level.

Matt Miazga made his debut in the 2013 Major League Soccer season and won two MLS Supporters’ Shields with the New York Red Bulls.
Matt Miazga signed a homegrown contract with the New York Red Bulls in May 2013 and became the eighth player to sign a homegrown contract with the club.
Matt Miazga made his first-team debut when he was 18 years old as a substitute for Markus Holgersson in the 76th minute of a 4–1 win at Houston Dynamo on September 8, 2013.
Matt Miazga returned to the United States where he signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with MLS side FC Cincinnati in August 2022.
