Kovář joined Manchester’s Premier League squad in 2022, after signing a fresh contract with the club.
He additionally spent time playing on loan playing for Swindon Town, Burton Albion, Sparta Prague, and the Czech Republic national team.
When he played for Sparta Prague, he helped the club to win its first championship title since 2014, and as a result, the League Football Association (LFA) awarded him goalkeeper of the 2022–23 season.
