Thursday night, the Cowboys’ owner issued a statement.

“The news of Marylyn’s death has crushed the entire Dallas Cowboys organization,” Jones added. “Marylyn has been by my side for more than 40 years, she has been my rock, my voice, my calm in the storm.”

Love left her job at an Oklahoma law firm to join Jones before he bought the Cowboys. Jones stated that the day Love made that decision changed his life forever. Deion Sanders addressed Love in his Hall of Fame acceptance speech, calling her one of the best cover corners in the NFL because of how she covered for her boss.

“Marylyn had an unrivalled work ethic.” She established the tone for the entire company. Every day, Marylyn was the first one in and the last one out of the building.

“Everyone in my family, everyone in the Dallas Cowboys family, feels this loss.” Marylyn was more than just my executive assistant; she was also my confidante, dearest friend, and a beloved member of our family. We are all mourning with her family, a family that we all hold dear to our hearts.’
