Marta Xargay is a former Spanish professional basketball player who played as a shooting guard/point guard for the Uni Girona CB (2005–2009, 2020) and CB Avenida (2009–2015) teams in Spain, the Phoenix Mercury in the United States (2015–2016), USK Praha in the Czech Republic (2015–2018), and WBC Dynamo Kursk in Russia (2018–2019).

In the 2010–11 season, Marta and CB Avenida won the EuroLeague Women championship—the top league in Europe for women’s basketball clubs—making it the first time in the club’s existence. She won the ‘Silver’ medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games while competing internationally and for Spain. It was Spain’s first medal at the Olympic Games in women’s basketball history.

Marta Xargay is 5 feet 11 inches tall. Xargay began playing basketball in clubs in her hometown of Girona at an early age. At 14, she joined Uni Girona CB’s youth division and eventually made it to the senior team and the Spanish second tier. She left Salamanca in 2009 to play with CB Avenida, spending the next six seasons there and winning two leagues, three cups, and one EuroLeague.
