Who Is Marlene Schiappa?
Marlène Schiappa is a French writer and politician and former Minister Delegate in charge of Citizenship, during the regime of Prime Minister Jean Castex.
Born on November 18, 1982, in Paris, France, Schiappa has also served as Secretary of State for Gender Equality, during the time of Prime Minister Édouard Philippe.
Schiappa is a graduate of Lycée Claude-Bernard where she bagged her Baccalauréat ES.
She also has a communications degree from the University of Grenoble.

Schiappa became deputy mayor of the city of Le Mans, in 2014, and was in charge of gender equality and discriminations.

In 2020, Schiappa rose to the position of Minister Delegate in charge of Citizenship, under the Minister of the Interior.
What Did Marlene Schiappa Do?
Schiappa recently appeared on the cover of the April edition of the French magazine Playboy.
The magazine content included a 12-page interview of her speaking about women’s and gay rights.
Her action has so far been followed by criticisms from her colleagues in government, including prime minister Elisabeth Borne, who thought it ‘was not at all appropriate, especially in the current period.’
Schiappa is now the first female politician to appear in the Playboy magazine.
She however, defended her actions via a tweet:
‘Defending the right of women to do what they want with their bodies: everywhere and all the time.
‘In France, women are free. Whether it annoys the retrogrades and hypocrites or not.’
Before now, there has been series of protest in France France, following president Macron’s decision to increase the retirement age from 62 to 64.
