Not much is known about his parents, however, Markiplier’s father Cliffton M. Fischbach was a German-American who served in the U.S. Army and was a USAF serviceman, who met his mother while stationed in South Korea.

Markiplier’s parents later relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio. Mark lost his father after a year-long battle with lung cancer on July 4, 2008, when he was 19 years old.
