Mark Sheehan, the lead guitarist and co-founder of The Script, has died. Sheehan, who was born on October 29, 1976 in Dublin passed away in April 2023 at age 46. He died in a hospital after a brief illness.

Sheehan’s death was announced on Friday (14 April) by the Irish rock band from their official social media channels.
The statement announcing his passing read:
“Much loved husband, father, brother, band mate and friend Mark Sheehan passed away today in hospital after a brief illness,”
“The family and group ask fans to respect their privacy at this tragic time.”

The exact illness which claimed Shhehan’s life is yet to be revealed.
The Script were founded in Dublin in 2001 with Sheehan on guitar, his childhood friend Danny O’Donoghue as the lead singer, and Glen Power on drums.
Last year, Sheehan missed the US leg of the group’s tour, with The Script’s frontman Danny O’Donoghue told explaining to the Sunday World that Sheehan’s absence was due to family commitments.
Sheehan was a father-of-three. He spent most of his time in the US with his American wife Rina. The pair were married for more than 20 years.
