General Mark A. Milley was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the highest-ranking military officer in the United States Armed Forces.

Mark Milley was born on June 18, 1958, in Winchester, Massachusetts. He attended Princeton University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science.

He later earned a master’s degree in international relations from Columbia University. Milley had a distinguished military career, serving in various leadership roles in the U.S. Army.

He held key positions, including commanding troops in combat, and he was known for his expertise in ground warfare. His career spanned several decades, and he achieved the rank of four-star general.

In 2019, General Mark Milley was nominated by President Donald Trump to become the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, succeeding General Joseph Dunford.

In this role, he served as the principal military advisor to the President and the Secretary of Defense, playing a crucial role in shaping U.S. military policy and strategy.
