American actor, Mark Margolis has been reported dead. According to her family, he died at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York after a short illness on August 3, 2023. He was 83.

Born on November 26, 1939, Mark Margolis started his career in 1959. He was notable for his supporting roles in Scarface in 1983, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994), Requiem for a Dream (2000), The Fountain (2006), The Wrestler (2008), and more.

He also starred in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation and played the role of Dr. Nel Apgar. Some of his other TV shows include The Equalizer, Quantum Leap, Oz, Law & Order, Crossing Jordan, Californication, and more.
Margolis was also a stage actor who performed in Berkeley Repertory Theatre’s 2014 season. He appeared as Gus in The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures by Tony Kushner.
He was survived by his wife of over 60 years; Jacqueline Petcove Margolis and his son, actor Morgan H. Margolis.
