Mark Gil was a famous Filipino actor. Gil was frequently cast as the main antagonist in action films.

Gil died on September 1, 2014, 24 at the age of 52 of cirrhosis of the liver caused by cancer of the liver.
Gil died peacefully, according to his family, with his loved ones by his side. They added that he had been in good spirits before his death.
On Wednesday, September 3, 2014, a memorial service for Gil was held at the La Salle Greenhills chapel in Metro Manila.

Gil, whose real name was Ralph Eigenmann, was a member of one of the Philippines’ most respected show-business families, which included Cherie Gil, who appeared in the popular film Bituing Walang Ningning.
Gil rose to prominence as Sid Lucero in the 1982 film Batch ’81. Underage, Indio, Miss X, and Palabra de Honor are among his other films.
His most recent project was the ABS-CBN primetime soap opera The Legal Wife, in which he played Dante Ramos.
Mar Gil was survived bby his wife Maricar Jacinto-Eigenmann, and children Andi, Gabby, Maxene, Ira, and Timothy Mark Eigenmann
