Maria Butina: Who Is The Russian Agent And Putin Loyalist?

Today, in an astonishing clash with Nick Robinson, Vladimir Putin’s ex-spy propagandist told the BBC that Jewish Volodymyr Zelensky is a “Nazi” and that the conflict is “going to plan.”

Maria Butina, convicted of operating as a foreign agent in the United States in 2018, told Radio 4’s Today Programme that Russia “is not bombing Americans.”

The Putin supporter, 33, also referred to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a “Nazi” and asserted that the war is “definitely” proceeding as planned.

And, referring to photographs of bombs destroying the city of Mariupol in south-eastern Ukraine, he added, ‘Are you genuinely stating [civilians] are not under attack from Russia?’

Mariupol has been surrounded by the Russian military for days, and a humanitarian crisis has erupted in the city of 430,000 people.

The shelling shattered houses and left the city without water, heat, or running sewage, according to Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.
