A professional basketball player for the Italian Lega Basket Serie A team Olimpia Milano as well as the EuroLeague, Maodo Lô is German and Senegalese.

Previously, in New York City, he played for Columbia University. Lô is regarded as one of the best German basketball players and is known to Columbia supporters as “The Chairman.”
Lô joined the Philadelphia 76ers summer league club after being left undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft. At the Las Vegas Summer League, he participated in the Sixers squad.
He agreed to a two-year, one million euro contract with Olimpia Milano, a dominant club in Italy, on July 15, 2023. The globally renowned German artist Elvira Bach and his Senegalese mother are the parents of Lô.

Lo, who was raised in Berlin, was given the name Malick Sy by his father Alioune, a couscous farmer from the southern Senegalese province of Kaffrine. Malick Sy is a well-known religious figure in West Africa.
Lo hesitated to disclose that Sy was sometimes referred to as Maodo, which he interpreted as the Great One.
The public is unaware of Maodo Lô’s family life, including his wife, partner, and children.
