Manuel Arturo Machado is a Major League Baseball third baseman and shortstop for the San Diego Padres (MLB).

Machado made his Major League Baseball debut in August of 2012. In 2013, Machado had a breakout year, earning a position on the American League (AL) All-Star team while leading the league in doubles with 51.
He was also recognised as one of the game’s top fielders, collecting a Gold Glove Award. Machado earned his second Gold Glove in 2015 and was selected to the All-Star Game in 2015, 2016, and 2018.
After Ronald Acua Jr. tore his ACL, Machado was chosen for the 2021 MLB All-Star Game. Machado concluded the 2021 season with a.278/.347/.489 batting line, 28 home runs, and 106 RBIs.

Manny Machado injured his ankle in a game against the Colorado Rockies on June 19, 2022.
Machado’s left foot fell off first base after sprinting down the line in quest of an infield single in the first inning, causing his ankle to bend as it touched the ground.
However, the X-rays were negative. Machado’s injury kept him out of the game for a while.
