Allegedly presenting himself as the chief private investigator for the Asantehene, Ampong exploited this false identity to deceive unsuspecting victims, orchestrating schemes to extort money from them.

His modus operandi also included leveraging traditional and social media platforms to propagate unfounded accusations against several Asante chiefs, including those of Pekyi N1, Gyaakye, Donyina, and Asotwe.

These baseless allegations, ranging from illegal mining to land sales and embezzlement, aimed to besmirch the reputations of respected community leaders.

Ampong’s actions caused significant confusion and discord among local leaders, as they grappled with the repercussions of his deceitful claims.

However, his deception was uncovered when he was confronted by kinsmen of the Saamanhene Palace in Kumasi. Eventually, he confessed to his crimes and renounced his false title.
