Malik Monk is an American professional basketball player who most recently played for the National Basketball Association’s Los Angeles Lakers (NBA).

Monk signed a trade exception salary deal with the Los Angeles Lakers on August 6, 2021. Monk scored 41 points in a 146-141 win over the Denver Nuggets on April 10, 2022.

Malik was born on February 4, 1998. He is 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m) tall. He played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats.

Monk spent his freshman year at East Poinsett County High School in Lepanto, Arkansas. He led them to a (25-8) overall record and an appearance in the Class 2A state championship game as a freshman, averaging 22.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.

Monk transferred to Bentonville High School in Bentonville, Arkansas, after his freshman year.

Monk was named Co-MVP of the 2016 McDonald’s All-American Game and Jordan Brand Classic alongside Kentucky teammate De’Aaron Fox.
