Maik Nawrocki, a center back, has been acquired by Celtic from Legia Warsaw for an unknown sum.

The Scottish champions and the 22-year-old have come to a five-year agreement. Nawrocki scored four goals in 30 appearances, including four starts, for the Polish Ekstraklasa runners-up in 2017.
The defender, who was born in Bremen and progressed through Werder Bremen’s development systems, spent a year on loan at Legia Warsaw before joining them permanently last summer.

As Legia overcame league champions Rakow Czestochowa 6-5 in the penalty shootout that followed a 0-0 draw, Nawrocki contributed to Legia’s victory in the Polish Cup.

In the Polish Super Cup this season, Legia repeated the feat after another scoreless tie with Rakow. The Poland Under-21 international was a replacement.
