Mahmoud Dahoud was born on January 1, 1996, in Amuda, Syria. Dahoud began his career playing at the junior level for the Langenfeld soccer club Germania Reusrath and Fortuna Düsseldorf before signing for Gladbach at the age of 14 in 2010.
