Maggie Haney has served as head coach at MG Elite Gymnastics, Inc in New Jersey, since 2007.
The American-born gymnastics coach previously trained 2016 Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez and 2018 World champion Riley McCusker.

Haney started coaching in 2007, and ended up having at least one athlete from her program on the national team roster for many years.

The North Carolina State University graduate had ranked amongst the most Perfect 10s during her college days, as a member of the women’s gymnastics program.
Haney’s career has been laced with some controversies leading to a number of suspensions.
On several occasions, Haney was accused of “instructing injured gymnasts to remove casts and continue training, yelling at and threatening gymnasts.”
Further allegations of verbal and emotional abuse came up against Haney, which had to do with some gymnasts sustaining severe injuries under her tutelage.
Haney bagged a 5-year suspension by the USA Gymnastics in 2019.
