Luke Donald is a 45 year-old accomplished English professional golfer. He was born on December 7, 1977, in Hemel Hempstead, England.

He primarily competes on the PGA Tour in the United States, although he is also a member of the European Tour.
Luke Donald turned professional in 2001, making his PGA Tour debut at the Reno-Tahoe Open thanks to a sponsors exemption.
He missed the cut on his debut, but went on to gain invitations to six more PGA Tour events in 2001, making three cuts. He qualified for the 2002 season by finishing T23rd at the Q-School.

After winning the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club in May 2011, Donald ascended to the top of the Official World Golf Ranking.
He won the PGA Tour money list as well as the European Race to Dubai to clinch a historic double, becoming the first player to win both the PGA and European Tour money lists in the same year.
He won the PGA Player of the Year award as well as the European Tour Golfer of the Year. He was also the first Englishman to win the PGA Tour Player of the Year, the Vardon Trophy, and the Mark H. McCormack Award for the most weeks at number one in a calendar year.
