An Italian professional boxer named Luigi Minchillo competed from 1977 to 1988. He passed away on September 25, 1993. at 1984, he made two bids for the world title at light middleweight. At the 1976 Summer Olympics, he participated as an amateur boxer in the men’s welterweight competition.

On September 26, 1981, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, he challenged Roberto Durán, also known as “manos de pietra,” another boxing legend. He lost to Durán on points after ten rounds. For the world lightweight championship in 1984, Luigi Minchillo, a former professional boxer, competed twice.

He competed in the amateur boxing division of the welterweight division at the 1976 Summer Olympics. As a member of Umberto Branchini’s Totip stable, Luigi Minchillo made his professional boxing debut in 1977.
