Lucy Simon was a popular song and theatre composer from the United States. Simon was born to Richard L. Simon and Andrea Simon in New York City. She was the musician Carly Simon’s older sister.

Lucy Simon was best known for the musicals The Secret Garden (1991) and Doctor Zhivago (2011). Simon began her professional career as the Simon Sisters, singing folk songs with sister Carly Simon, and later as a folk-rock singer.

The Simon Sisters released three albums, the first of which was Meet the Simon Sisters, which featured the song “Winkin’, Blinkin’, and Nod.”

Simon and her husband, David Levine, won a Grammy Award for Best Recording for Children for In Harmony in 1981, and again in 1983 for In Harmony 2.

Lucy Simon died Thursday, October 20, 2022, at her Piedmont, New York, home after a long battle with breast cancer, according to a family spokesperson. She was 82 years old.
