Lucy Letby trial update
What is the update on Lucy Letby‘s trial? Lucy Letby has been accused of killing seven babies; five boys and two girls. Sources also indicate that she has been attempting to kill ten more babies. However, she has denied all 22 charges made against her at Manchester Crown Court.
According to Nick Johnson KC, there were a number of abnormal baby deaths in the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester hospital. After several investigations and study, they noticed that the deaths occurred every time there was the presence of Lucy Letby at the hospital.
“Having searched for a cause, which they were unable to find, the consultants noticed that the inexplicable collapses and death did have a common denominator. The presence of one of the neonatal nurses and that nurse was Lucy Letby,” Johnson said.
It was revealed that in the period between 2015 and the middle of 2016, Lucy Letby poisoned two babies with insulin.
