Lucas Hedges is an American actor. He is the son of Peter Hedges and Susan Bruce Titman. His mother is an actress and his father Peter is a screenwriter and director.

His paternal grandfather was an Episcopal minister named Rev. Robert Boyden Hedges. His maternal grandfather worked as a vice president at HBO in New York and his maternal grandmother, Narcissa Titman, was a theatre director and lecturer.
Simon, his older brother, works in private equity in New York. He grew up in Brooklyn Heights and Cobble Hill, visiting his father’s film sets on a regular basis.

As a child, Hedges appeared as an extra in his father’s film Dan in Real Life (2007), but his line was cut during post-production.
His father, along with Chris and Paul Weitz, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for About a Boy in 2002.
Peter Hedges wrote and directed Pieces of April, starring Katie Holmes, the same year, which he dedicated to his mother. In 2018, he wrote and directed the drug addiction drama Ben Is Back, starring his son Lucas Hedges and Julia Roberts.
