At the tender age of 24, Loren, alongside his wife Darlene, laid the cornerstone of YWAM in Lausanne, Switzerland. Their unwavering commitment saw them become stalwart figures in YWAM leadership, bearing titles as Founders of the Mission and trusted advisers to YWAM International’s leadership.
In 1978, Loren Cunningham co-founded the University of the Nations in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, alongside Howard Malmstadt, further cementing his legacy as a visionary missionary leader.
Cunningham passed away on October 6, 2023, at age 88.
