Loren Cunningham, the visionary founder of Youth With a Mission (YWAM), has passed away at the age of 88 after battling cancer.

This loss is deeply felt by the global Christian community and the thousands of individuals whose lives were touched by his work.
Born in 1935 in California, Cunningham’s journey in ministry began at the young age of 13 when he attended a revival meeting. His life’s purpose became clear when, in 1956, he experienced a powerful vision during a stay at a missionary’s home.
This divine calling led him to establish YWAM in 1960, which has since grown to encompass approximately 2,000 chapters across nearly every country.

Loren’s impact extended beyond YWAM, as he oversaw the launch of various Christian initiatives, including YWAM Olympic Outreaches, the International Torch Run, Cardinal Points Prayer Days, the University of the Nations, YWAM Ships, and Pray OMT.
In addition to his influential leadership, Loren authored several books that continue to inspire and guide believers worldwide.
His legacy lives on through his family, including his wife of 60 years, Darlene, his children, David, Karen, and Judy, and his three beloved grandchildren, Madi, Kenna, and Liam.
Loren Cunningham’s life and work remain a testament to the power of faith, vision, and unwavering dedication to spreading the message of Christianity.
