Webb is legally blind and was diagnosed with severe astigmatism in third or fourth grade after having trouble seeing the ball.
He currently plays as a pitcher for the San Francisco Giants in Major League Baseball (MLB). Webb was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the fourth round of the 2014 MLB Draft.

He made his MLB debut on August 17, 2019, and quickly gained attention for his promising pitching abilities. Webb primarily serves as a starting pitcher for the Giants, utilizing a mix of pitches to keep hitters off balance.

He was named to the United States national baseball team for the 2023 World Baseball Classic on December 1, 2022. Webb pitched his first major-league complete game and shutout against the Colorado Rockies on July 9, 2023. He struck out 10 hitters while allowing only 7 hits and no walks.
