Bariatric surgery alters the digestive system to facilitate weight loss. The most common types of bariatric surgery include gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, and adjustable gastric banding.
Although, these procedures differ in their mechanisms, but they all share the goal of reducing the size of the stomach and redirecting the digestive process to limit food intake and absorption.
