Lisa Lyon Ex-Husband: Meet Bernard Lavilliers

Bernard Lavilliers is the ex-husband of Lisa Lyon, a female bodybuilder and photo model from the United States.

The former couple were married from 1982-1983. They had no kids together. Bernard Lavilliers is a French singer-songwriter and actor.

Lisa Lyon is regarded as one of female bodybuilding’s pioneers. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she majored in painting.

She learned the Japanese style of fencing, kendo, but found herself deficient in upper body strength, so she began weight training. This finally led to her getting into bodybuilding.

On June 16, 1979, she competed in and won the first International Federation of BodyBuilders Women’s World Pro Bodybuilding Championship in Los Angeles. This was her first and only bodybuilding competition.

Lisa Lyon promoted bodybuilding for women in numerous periodicals and on television discussion shows. Lisa Lyon’s Body Magic (ISBN 0-553-01296-7), a book on weight training for women, was also released in 1981.

In 2000, she was inducted into the International Federation of Bodybuilding Hall of Fame for being “a one-woman media-relations activist on behalf of the sport and elevating bodybuilding to the level of fine art.”
