Bruce Paul Abbott is a film, stage, and television actor from the United States. He was the first husband of American actress Linda Hamilton.

The former couple were married from 1982 to 1989. Bruce divorced Linda Hamilton while she was pregnant with their son, who was born in 1989.
Linda stated that it was due to the way she treated him during their marriage due to her undiagnosed bipolar problems.
She apologized publicly in an interview with Oprah in 2004 saying, “I was very physical at times. I would grab Bruce by the legs and refuse to let him leave me. Once, I threw a glass of water in his face. I would make him suffer.”

Abbott began his career in theatre before becoming well-known for his role as Dan Cain in the cult sci-fi horror films Re-Animator (1985) and Bride of Re-Animator (1990).
He has also appeared in the horror films Bad Dreams (1988), The Prophecy II (1996), and Out of Time (1999). He played Judge Nicholas Marshall on the television series Dark Justice from 1992 to 1993.
