His father was an aerospace engineer with former military service, and his mother, had a medical career within the military. Three of his siblings followed their parents lead and also served in the United States military.
Lil Jon’s parents were strict when necessary, but otherwise “loosened the leash,” allowing him to roam freely. His parents allowed him to practise his DJ skills early on: “I lived in the basement of my house, which was basically like a mini flat.
” I had a turntable set up so we could host a party at any time.” His parents would rather have him at home under their supervision than “be in the street somewhere wilding out.”
