Leslie Griffith Obituary

Leslie Ray Griffith was a writer and journalist who began her career working for the Associated Press and The Denver Post in newspapers. Leslie Griffith worked as an anchor for KTVU Channel 2 News for more than two decades.

Leslie Griffith passed away on Wednesday in Lake Chapala, Mexico. According to family members, she battled Lyme disease for years.

Leslie Griffith was born on January 1, 1956. Griffith worked as a general assignment reporter and anchor for the Original Ten O’clock News on KTVU in the San Francisco Bay Area for 22 years.

For nine of those years, she was the sole weekend news anchor. She was in Moscow on her 25th birthday, reporting on the Cold War.

She has written for many online publications since leaving KTVU in 2006, including The Huffington Post and the San Francisco Chronicle. She established the Leslie R. Griffith Woman of Courage Scholarship in 2005.

Leslie Griffith is survived by two daughters, Trenton and Carly, and two grandchildren, according to KTVU.
