Lesia Viktorivna Tsurenko was born on May 30, 1989, in Volodymyrets, Ukraine. She is residing in Kyiv, Ukraine as of now. Her parents are Larysa Tsurenko and Viktor Tsurenko. She reached a new career-high ranking of No. 60 in the world in 2013 and in 2017, she reached a new career-high ranking of No. 29 after Wimbledon.
Lesia Tsurenko made her first Grand Slam fourth round at the US Open, initially defeating Irina-Camelia Begu and Dominika Cibulková. Lesia Tsurenko won her second WTA Tour singles title in Guangzhou two weeks later defeating Jelena Janković in the final in 2016.

Lesia Tsurenko won her WTA third singles title in Acapulco after defeating Kristina Mladenovic in the final in 2017. She won four singles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as six singles titles and eight doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.
