Leonard Whiting is a retired English actor who is best known for his role as Romeo in the 1968 film adaptation of Shakespeare’s play “Romeo and Juliet.”

Leonard Whiting is the father of two adult daughters Charlotte Westenra and Sarah Whiting. His daughter Sarah Beth Whiting was born in 1972.
Sarah Whiting died in 2014 from cervical cancer. His other daughter Charlotte Westenra is a stage director.
Charlotte’s career began at the Donmar Warehouse, where she was the Resident Assistant Director between 2004 and 2005, after graduating with first-class honours in Drama from the University of Manchester and training at Augusto Boal’s Centre of the Theatre of the Oppressed in Rio de Janeiro.

She specialises in straight theatre, musicals, site-specific pieces, and political theatre. Charlotte rose to prominence with performances at the Tricycle, Trafalgar Studios, and the Sheffield Crucible.
BEASTS & BEAUTIES, an eight-fairytale adaptation by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy and dramatised by Tim Supple and Melly Still, premiered in December 2012 at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
She has opened THE WICKER HUSBAND at the Watermill Theatre a new musical by Rhys Jennings (book) and Darren Clark (music and lyrics), which won the inaugural MTI Stiles + Drewe Mentorship Award.
