Sharon Messer is the wife of Leon Vitali, the Barry Lyndon actor who ‘abandoned’ acting to become one of Stanley Kubrick’s closest associates.

Sharon and Leon got married in 18th May 2005.
However, their marriage was short-lived as six years later, thus on 4th January 2011, Sharon and Leon filed for divorce. Sharon Messer and Leon Vitali were childless in their marriage.
Sharon is actually Leon’s second wife. Leon was married to Kersti Vitali with whom he had three children; Masha, Max and Vera.

Sadly, Leon passed away on Friday August 20 in Los Angeles, his family said on Sunday. He died peacefully surrounded by loved ones including his three children, Masha, Max and Vera.

A statement from the family reads;
“Leon was a special and lovely man driven by his curiosity, who spread love and warmth wherever he went,” his children said. “He will be remembered with love and be hugely missed by the many people he touched.”
Leon is perhaps best known on the big screen for his role as Lord Bullingdon in Kubrick’s Barry Lyndon, in which he played the title character’s stepson.
But after forming a close bond with Kubrick on the set, the actor decided to switch his career path and become the director’s personal assistant.
