Legendary Australian radio and television personality Graham Webb has passed away at 88 at the Gold Coast University Hospital on 26 April 2024

Webb, a revered figure in the media industry, began his illustrious career in 1954 at 2TM Tamworth. Over the years, he became known for his charismatic presence and engaging style, captivating audiences across the country.
During his time in radio, Webb hosted a popular top 40 music program in Sydney alongside fellow icon John Laws. His interviews with globally renowned artists, including The Beatles, The Monkees, and The Everly Brothers, solidified his reputation as a master of his craft.
In the 1970s, Webb transitioned into television and hosted several beloved programs such as Blind Date and Jeopardy, showcasing his versatility and talent across different media platforms.
Despite his success in television, radio remained Webb’s true passion. He continued to host music programs across Australia until 2020, including the esteemed Webby’s Wireless Show on Western Sydney’s Vintage FM from 2013 to 2019.

Even as his health declined, Webb remained dedicated to his craft, pre-recording his programs at home and sending them to the station for broadcast.
His commitment to radio excellence earned him praise from colleagues and listeners alike, with Vintage FM boss Wayne Wilmington describing him as a “national treasure.”
In addition to his remarkable career in broadcasting, Webb was a pioneer in community radio. In 2000, he played a pivotal role in establishing Sunshine FM 104.9, a community radio station in Queensland, leaving a lasting impact on the industry.
Tragically, Webb experienced personal loss with the passing of his wife Tina in 1995. He is survived by his son Byron.
