The athlete’s journey is not just about breaking speed records; it’s a testament to the profound connection he shares with his wife and the joy found in their family life.

Dubreuil and Andreanne Bastille, a union of hearts that goes beyond the realms of speed skating, have been blessed with a two-year-old daughter named Rose. Their family story is a beautiful narrative of love, support, and the delicate balance between the demands of an elite sports career and the joys of parenthood.

While Dubreuil showcased his speed skating prowess at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, his perspective on success underwent a transformative shift.

Placing 18th in the 500 meters and 25th in the 1,000 meters, Dubreuil realized that, for him, an Olympic gold medal is not the ultimate measure of happiness. Instead, it is the love he shares with Andreanne and their daughter, Rose, that occupies the central place in his life.

“I used to think it would be life-changing, and now my life is more centered on my family than it is on sports,” Dubreuil expressed. “It would be a crowning achievement of my career just like the world championship was last year. That would be even bigger, of course, but I don’t think I would be happier. My happiness is more tied to my family, my daughter, my wife than it is to my skating, so I can see myself being extremely happy in life without winning it.”
