The funeral service for the late Access Bank boss, Herbert Wigwe, his wife Chizoba, and son Chizi, held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Lion of Judah Parish in Isiokpi, Rivers State, was a deeply emotional gathering. Tears flowed freely as mourners paid their respects, with Herbert Wigwe’s surviving children displaying remarkable strength amidst the sorrow.

The tragic helicopter crash in the US on February 9 claimed the lives of Herbert Wigwe, his wife Doreen, son Chizzy, and Abimbola Ogunbanjo. Their return to Rivers State for burial rites brought together a host of dignitaries and prominent figures to honor their memory.

Governors Sim Fubara (Rivers), Douye Diri (Bayelsa), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Hope Uzodinma (Imo), and King Ateke Tom of Okochiri Kingdom were among those present.
Notable personalities like Aliko Dangote, Chibuike Amaechi, Peter Obi, Bukola Saraki, Seriake Dickson, Kayode Fayemi, alongside security officials and clergy members added to the solemn yet dignified atmosphere of the ceremony.
The community’s support was evident with traditional rulers and local leaders from Omoeke and Isiokpo coming together to pay their respects.
