Lars Nootbaar Parents: Meet Charlie Nootbaar and Kumiko Enokida

Lars Nootbaar is an American professional baseball player. He is the son of Charlie Nootbaar and Kumi Enokida.

His father Charlie is of Dutch, English, and German descent and his mother Kumiko Enokida is Japanese.  Nootbaar grew up in El Segundo, California.

Lars Nootbaar’s parents met while attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. His father Charlie Nootbaar is a co-owner of the company RAC Performance

Nigel Nootbaar, Nootbaar’s older brother, was a pitcher at USC and later played professionally in the Baltimore Orioles system.

Nootbaar played college baseball for the University of Southern California (USC) Trojans. During his time at USC, he showcased his talent and earned recognition as a strong hitter with good power and a disciplined approach at the plate.

In the 2018 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft, Nootbaar was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the eighth round. He spent four seasons in their minor league system before making his MLB debut in 2021. He also plays for the Japan national baseball team on an international level.
