Larry Holley, an American basketball coach, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the age of 76.

“It is with a crushed heart that I report that our great dad, Larry Holley, passed away unexpectedly this afternoon,” said Holley’s daughter Lindsey in a social media statement. We’re all stunned, and I’m sure everyone who loved him is as well.”
“If you knew our father, you know what a great loss this is,” she added. He was a coach, teacher, mentor, spouse, father, grandfather, cousin, and friend to many of us.
Larry Holley was married twice. Holley and his late wife, Ann, had three daughters.

Holley grew up in small-town Jameson, Missouri, and graduated with a class of only ten students. He was a three-sport athlete at William Jewell before pursuing a coaching career.
He won 918 games in that time, stopping at Central Methodist and Northwest Missouri State before a 40-year career at William Jewell. The victories rank 10th in college basketball history, just ahead of Bob Huggins, Roy Williams, and Bob Knight.
