Lang Lang is a Chinese concert pianist with a $30 million net worth. Lang Lang was inspired to play the piano after watching a Tom and Jerry episode.

He began piano lessons at the age of three, and by the age of five, he had won first place in the Shenyang Piano Competition. He was expelled from his tutor’s school due to a lack of talent.
Lang was a featured soloist in the China National Symphony’s inaugural concert when he was 14 years old. After that, he attended the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
He is the first Chinese pianist to perform with the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonics. In 2008, he joined Google and YouTube for the project YouTube Symphony Orchestra.

Lang Lang has performed for dignitaries including President Barack Obama, United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, and others.
He was seen by up to a billion people during the opening ceremony of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. In 2014, Lang collaborated with Metallica for the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
Lang Lang was named one of Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World” in 2009. In 2008, he was appointed as the Recording Academy’s Cultural Ambassador to China.
