A businessman from Sri Lanka named Lalith Kotelawala (29 October 1938 – 21 October 2023) served as both the founding chairman of Seylan Bank and the chairman of Ceylinco Consolidated. He was included on the 2007 Richest List of Sri Lanka. He was placed on remand for stealing investments totaling 26 billion rupees from the defunct Golden Key Credit Company.

Kotelawala expanded Ceylinco Consolidated into new industries after taking over the company from his father in the 1960s. These industries included banking, non-banking finance, investment banking, housing and property development, travel and leisure, communication and information technology, education and healthcare, and microfinance. Three years after sustaining injuries in a 1996 attack by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, he established a peace effort in Sri Lanka.
